This weekend our proposal for a new square of Bergen was on display. In the former fire station - which plays a crucial part in our plans, residents of the town could see a model, combined with a fundraiser. The initative for the plans is with the community initiative Mooier Bergen. On their website, you can donate to fund the further development of their plans.
The plans are based on the reuse of the former fire station and the town cultural centre - de Harmonie. While safeguarding the existing identity of the place, mixed additional program is added: social housing, a food market, small scale shop and an extension of the cultural centre.
The plan is developed together with a community initiative, which reacted against the large scale ambition of the existing plans. Due to the smaller scale, the plan can be implemented easily and investment risks are balanced out.
