Deventer has a strong push to DIY city development, with its former harbor district as the focal point. Recent developments made the harbor district a new creative urban district. DIY housing developments, a reuse of the industrial heritage and the recently opened Fooddock makes for a lively, vibrant city part.
The city of Deventer has selected krft and Binderholz for the 2nd round in the development competition 'Object One' in Deventer. The assigment is radical self-built housing, in an step-by-step development process: an organic city block. krft has been researching this topic for a while now, in multiple projects, based on the fantasy of organic growing structures.
